THIRD ANNUAL RICE FEST TO BE HELD AT WARD CENTERS ON SATURDAY, SEPT. 29

HONOLULU, HI (August 16, 2012) – Rice lovers, come join us for the 3rd Annual Rice Fest, to be held on Saturday, September 29 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Ward Centers. Admission is FREE, so come down and enjoy the delicious food and festivities at this fun, exciting, unique local festival that celebrates a food that is a cultural cornerstone to so many in Hawaii.

Besides numerous dishes celebrating the world’s most popular staple, there will be various activities, including the building of an even bigger version of what last year won the Guinness Book of World Records title for the WORLD’S LARGEST SPAM MUSUBI, plus professional chef demonstrations, food booths, and live entertainment, along with two contests: Da SPAM Musubi Eating Contest and “Riceipe” Cooking Contest.

Rice Fest will also be accepting your generous rice donations for Lanakila Pacific’s “Meals on Wheels” nonprofit volunteer-run program, Hawaii’s only island-wide meal service for needy seniors.

Get out your chopsticks and bring your appetite down to Hawaii’s ONLY celebration uniquely dedicated to rice at the 3rd Annual Rice Fest, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Ward Centers.
