9th Annual Rice Fest at Ward Village Saturday, September 22 from 3:00pm – 9:00pm

Hawaii’s largest annual rice event once again teams up with Eat The Street and will be held on Auahi Street fronting Ward Centre

Honolulu, HIRice Fest is an opportunity for people from a variety of cultures to come together and celebrate the unique elements that unite them.

This year marks the 9th Annual Rice Fest and will be at Ward Village on September 22, 2018 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm.  The event will take place on Auahi Street, fronting Ward Centre, Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. The event is free and open to the public.

At Rice Fest, you will experience Hawaii’s culinary diversity via food eating contests, entertainment, and more. This festival celebrates the world’s melting pot for the otherwise ordinary grain. This daily staple is transformed and infused with new and fantastic flavors that tantalize the taste buds.

Rice Fest will also include live entertainment and three eating contests.

– nom nom SPAM Musubi Eating Competition with the winner receiving a trip for two to Las Vegas
– Paina Café Poke Bowl Eating Contest
– Rainbow Drive-In Loco Moco Eating Contest

To enter the contest, please visit the entertainment stage hospitality tent at 5:00pm. Contestants will be offered a space in one eating contest on a first come, first serve basis.

One of the primary initiatives for this event is to bring awareness to Lanakila Meals on Wheels, a wonderful program that helps to feed Hawaii’s hungry seniors. They will be accepting monetary and brown rice donations all day long at the Lanakila Pacific booth at the Rice Fest.

Free, self-parking options will be available at Ward Centre, Whole Foods Queen, South Shore Market and other Howard Hughes parking options.

Plenty of Free & Valet parking available. Self-parking at Ward Village Shops & Ward Centre parking garages or Valet at Ward Centre, adjacent to Genki Sushi and just a few steps away from the action.
