Chef Colin Hazama Chef Colin Hazama
Colin Hazama is the senior executive sous chef at Sheraton Waikiki. Hazama was most recently the chef de cuisine at Kauai Grill Culinary Concepts by Jean-Georges Vongerichten at The St. Regis Princeville Resort, with prior experiences at places that include Hoku’s at The Kahala Hotel and Resort, Alan Wong’s Restaurant, Roy’s Restaurant, California Culinary Academy and Restaurant Gary Danko in San Francisco, California. Hazama received an Associate of Occupational Studies degree from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, California. In 2010, he was selected as a semi-finalist of the 2010 James Beard Foundation Awards “Rising Star Chef of the Year.” Hazama won the 2006 Young Commis Competition in Hawaii and participated in the Cahine De Rotisseur National Cooking Competition at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Hazama has also participated in the “Food and Wine” consumer guide food event under Chef Alan Wong in San Francisco, California and “The Masters of Food and Wine” under Chef Gary Danko in Carmel, California. During his free time, Hazama enjoys spear fishing, diving, and spending time with family and friends.

Denby Dung Denby Dung (OC16’s The Pet Hui)
Denby Dung is a professional model and actress and is currently a musician and Mistress of Ceremonies for the Royal Hawaiian Band. In addition, she is a music instructor at Chaminade University where she teaches clarinet and saxophone. Denby graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Education Degree in Secondary Music.

She has performed in numerous musical theatre productions including “You Somebody”, “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”, “Meet Me in St. Louis”, “Flower Drum Song”, “The Producers” and “A Little Night Music”. In 2001, Denby was crowned Miss Hawaii. She has been seen in numerous television commercials and many film projects.

Her credits also include radio and voice-over work for many advertisements. Denby is a pet lover and is the host of the OC16 show “The Pet Hui”.

 


 

Chef Grant Kawasaki Chef Grant Kawasaki (Hanapaa Sushi Company)
Born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii, Chef Grant Kawasaki grew up always having a love for food. He started his culinary journey during college, cooking healthy alternative dishes for his grandmother who had an insulin dependant diabetic condition. Eventually, Grant started a small catering business for small exclusive private parties and then, found the urge to get into retail food service. Grant has apprenticed with many top chefs and restaurants to develop his own signature style. Grant has had featured his culinary talents in several restaurant hotspots prior to his current foodservice activities. Grant is also the entertaining host of two of OC16’s most popular and highly rated shows, Hawaiian Grown TV & Hawaiian Grown Kitchen.

Manolo Morales Manolo Morales (KHON)
Manolo Morales – a New York City native – started out as an intern while studying broadcast journalism at University of Hawaii at Manoa, then moved into the studio as a teleprompter operator. After graduation, Morales worked as a news photographer for four years before transitioning into on-air reporting in 1993. When he’s not chasing down a story, Morales can be found spending time with his wife and two dogs – most likely checking out new places to eat or trying different recipes.
